FRAME OPTIONS

Materials selected for the project

Pitbull Doors offers vinyl, fiberglass, aluminum and wood windows. Construction and tested performance vary by product—not simply by material.

Vinyl windows

A common residential option available in multiple operating styles, glazing packages, colours and configurations.

Fiberglass

A strong, dimensionally stable frame option with specifications and finishes that vary by manufacturer.

Aluminum

Slim profiles and structural strength; thermal breaks and complete-system ratings are important in heated buildings.

OPERATING STYLES

Choose how the window should work

These photos show the main operating styles in real residential settings. Exact proportions, hardware and available combinations vary by manufacturer.

Casement & awning

Hinged windows use compression seals and can provide strong ventilation and air-tightness when properly closed.

Fixed & picture

Non-opening windows prioritize light and views and are generally more airtight than comparable operable units.

Slider

One or more sashes travel horizontally, making sliders practical where exterior clearance is limited.

Representative image: Installed double-hung window with the lower sash raised

Hung windows

Single- and double-hung windows use vertically moving sashes and suit openings where horizontal operation is preferred.

Bay, bow & custom

Combination and specialty openings require careful measurement, support and finishing.

EUROPEAN STYLE

Tilt-and-turn windows

Pitbull offers Canadian- and European-manufactured systems. The sash can typically turn inward or tilt inward at the top, but construction, hardware, screens and ratings depend on the selected product.

Two opening positions

A turn position provides a wide inward opening; a tilt position provides controlled ventilation.

Plan the interior clearance

Furniture, blinds, handles and screens must work with an inward-opening sash.

Compare actual ratings

“European style” is not one universal performance specification. We review the selected model’s documented ratings.

GLASS & PERFORMANCE

Specify the glass—not only the frame

Premium window selection includes the complete insulating glass unit. Pane count, Low-E coating, gas fill, spacer, safety requirements, orientation and visible-light goals should be considered together.

Double or triple pane

Pane count changes the number of sealed airspaces, but it does not tell the full performance story. Compare the complete window rating and the actual glass package.

Low-E coatings & gas fills

A microscopically thin Low-E coating reflects infrared heat. Argon or another specified gas can reduce heat transfer through the sealed space. Coating selection should reflect orientation, solar exposure and comfort goals.

U-factor, SHGC & ER

Lower U-factor indicates less heat transfer. SHGC measures admitted solar heat. Canada’s Energy Rating combines heat transfer, solar gain and air leakage into a comparative value.

Condensation & edge performance

Indoor humidity, airflow and exterior temperature influence room-side condensation. Spacer design affects temperatures near the glass edge; moisture between panes can indicate seal failure.

Safety, security & sound

Tempered or laminated glass may be required or preferred for certain locations. Laminated configurations can also support security, sound-control and UV-filtering goals when available in the selected system.

Privacy & design glass

Obscure patterns, decorative glass, internal grilles and custom shapes can balance privacy, daylight and architectural character. Availability depends on the selected manufacturer and unit.

COMMON QUESTIONS

What customers ask us

What window materials do you offer?

Pitbull offers vinyl, fiberglass, aluminum and wood windows.

Is triple-pane glass always necessary?

No. The right glazing depends on the complete window, orientation, comfort goals and budget.

Can you install during winter?

Yes, when temperature, precipitation, wind and product requirements permit safe and proper installation.

Do new windows eliminate condensation?

Not necessarily. Better-performing windows may help, but indoor humidity, ventilation and airflow still matter.

What warranty does Pitbull provide?

Pitbull Doors provides a 10-year workmanship warranty. Product warranties vary and are confirmed with the buyer.
